One Day Tour From Fez to Meknes and Volubilis

Overview
We begin our day by traveling from Fez to the Volubilis Roman Ruins to see the remains of the Roman Empire. Next, we travel to Moulay Driss Zarhoun to see the tomb of Moulay Idris, the man who founded Fez. Continue on to Meknes for its breathtaking vista of the medina, its ramparts, and its lovely doorways.
What to Expect
From your accommodation around 9:00 A.M our driver will be waiting for you and take you in the direction of Volubilis to explore the 2000-year-old Roman ruins there and gain an understanding of life there during the Roman Empire. This well-known, 50-hectare Volubilis archaeological site is one of Morocco’s most visited and best-preserved sites. You will be able to recognize the magnificence of the Arc de Triomphe, the basilica, and the Caracalla capital among the Roman ruins. Continue on to Meknes to explore the lovely medina and marvel at its magnificent walls and doors, including Berda’ne Bab and Bab Khemis, which are monumental doors dating from the seventeenth century. The royal stables and attics are still up for exploration.
Also, explore the royal family’s residence, Dar El Kabira, as well as Meknes’ enormous kasbahs, palaces, fortifications, and gardens. Next head at the renowned Bab Mansour gate on the enormous Hedim square after stopping at the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, which for a long time was the only mosque in Morocco that non-Muslims could visit. The Moroccan art gallery “Dar Jamai” on the other side of the square sells a wide range of goods. Lunch will be in Meknes (own expense).
You will visit the holly town of Moulay Idriss which ha a beutiful green tile dome and lovely ancient Medina; You will climb the hill to gat a panoramic view of the surrounding and the whole village. In the late afternoon our driver will drop you off at your accommodation in Fez.
