Desert tours from Fez 3 Days 2 Nights to Marrakech
Overview
Our most popular desert tour departs from Fez and ends in Marrakech. This journey has been created for those who enjoy long drives and are keen to experience the Moroccan Sahara desert in depth. You won’t experience even the slightest bit of boredom when touring the Desert and Merzouga. The surroundings drastically alter. Starting with Marrakech’s fertile Haouz plains and the high Atlas Mountains, then moving on through oases and valleys, rocky plateaus, and the incredible Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Just be sure to bring your camera because you’ll see sights that you’ve never seen before—scenes that are simply beyond anything your wildest dreams could conjure up!
Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga -Sahara desert
Early in the morning our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Fez and take you to the southern region of Morocco. You’ll stop in Ifrane, which is referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco, to take in its splendor and get some priceless images. You will then proceed to Azrou to visit the monkeys in the cedar forest after that. going on to Midelt to a restaurant for lunch. We will travel through Tizi N Talghamt Pass in the late afternoon to reach Errachidia while taking in the scenery of Ziz Gorges. You’ll stop later for a panoramic vista of the Ziz valley. After going through Erfoud ( which is well-known for its fossils and dates), on the way to the Erg Chebbi Dunes, you might want to stop by a nearby workshop that makes fossil crafts. You will then continue to the fascinating Erg Chebbi dunes. Merzouga Dunes is another name for these sand dunes. You will prepare for a 1.5 hour camel trek to see the sunset as soon as you arrive. You will go farther to the camp on the back of your dromedary where you will spend the night in a tent in the desert. Dinner and an overnight stay in a bivouac amid the sand dunes with a performance of Saharan music are included.
Day 2: Erg Chebbi Dunes – Erfoud – Tinejdad – Todra Gorges – Boumalne Dades
Get up early in the morning to watch the Sahara Desert dawn from the top of the dune near the camp. Then, eat breakfast. After these lovely moments, you will return to Merzouga on your camel. Erfoud and Tinejdad are passed as we head towards Tinghir. Take a lunch break there. We will proceed to the Todra gorges, taking breaks along the way to take pictures and take in the scenery. Arrival at Todra Gorges for a hiking excursion to take in the breathtaking canyon views. Later, we travel to Boumalne du Dades, where we pause to take in the expansive vista of Dades Valley. Dinner and a hotel stay are included.
Day 3: Boumalne Dades – Kelaa M’gouna – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Tizi N’Tichka Pass – Marrakech
We leave for Marrakech this morning after breakfast at the hotel. The Rose Valley, which passes through the expansive Skoura palm grove, is the next destination to see. It’s a lovely place to admire more than 700.000 palm trees there as well as the numerous kasbahs that have been constructed nearby. Damascene roses are grown in this valley to use in beauty products like the rosewater. The next stop is Ouarzazate, also referred to as “The Gate of the Desert”. The Taourirt kasbah, one of Morocco’s most impressive ksars, is here. Taking a break to get a panoramic view of the Taourirt kasbah before making another photo stop close to the Atlas movie studios. Following that, we go to Ait Benhaddou ksar, or fortified village, where we will visit the renowned Kasbah (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986). Several well-known movies, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penelope Cruz, have been filmed on this magnificent set. Lunchtime in the town at your expense. We will go to Marrakech in the afternoon via the Tizi N’tichka pass across the high Atlas highlands (2260 m in altitude). Afternoon arrival in Marrakech, drop-off at your hotel or riad, and conclusion of our services.
